Easy Sustainable Swaps

Living a more eco-friendly life doesnโ€™t mean making drastic changes overnight. Small swaps can make a huge difference over time! Here are some easy ways to reduce plastic waste and live a little greener.

In the Kitchen ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

  • Ditch the cling film โ€“ Beeswax wraps are a fantastic alternative to single-use plastic wrap.
  • Silicone baking sheets โ€“ Say goodbye to endless rolls of tin foil and baking paper.
  • Refillable cleaning products โ€“ The Green Co. offers a great range of eco-friendly refillable cleaning products. From kitchen degreaser to glass cleaner, to bathroom spray. Check out their range here.
  • Glass jars for refills โ€“ Bring your own jars to zero-waste stores for grains, pasta, and even peanut butter!
  • Ground coffee > pods โ€“ Coffee pods are tricky to recycle. Opt for a French press or reusable coffee filter instead.
  • Bamboo scrubbing brush – Replace your plastic brush with a bamboo option. Easy to recycle after use and are just as effective!
  • Tupperware for takeout โ€“ Bring your own container when grabbing takeaway food to avoid plastic packaging.
  • Fabric napkins โ€“ No more disposable paper napkins! Fabric ones are reusable and add a classy touch to meals.
  • Reusable water bottles โ€“ Cut out single-use plastic bottles by investing in a sturdy, reusable one. Our reusable bottles are insulated to keep your drinks warm for 12 hours and cold for 24.

In the Bathroom ๐Ÿšฟ

  • Solid shower products โ€“ Shampoo bars, conditioner bars, and solid soap bars work just as well as their bottled counterparts!
  • Bamboo toothbrush โ€“ An easy swap for a more sustainable morning routine.
  • Laundry bag for microplastics โ€“ Prevent microplastics from synthetic fabrics entering the waterways.
  • Eco-friendly laundry detergent โ€“ The Green Co. provides eco-friendly laundry detergent and fabric softener in biodegradable sheets rather than a plastic bottle.
  • Dryer balls instead of fabric softener โ€“ They soften clothes naturally and reduce drying time.

Out and About ๐ŸŒ

  • Reusable coffee cups- Many cafรฉ coffee cups arenโ€™t recyclable due to their plastic lining. Our reusable coffee cups are perfect for being sustainable on the go.
  • Tote bags โ€“ Keep a fabric tote handy to avoid plastic shopping bags.
  • Reusable straws โ€“ Ditch plastic straws in favour of stainless steel, bamboo, or silicone alternatives.

At Home ๐Ÿก

  • Toilet roll switch-up โ€“ Bamboo toilet roll is a more sustainable alternative to traditional paper options.
  • Draft excluders โ€“ Instead of cranking up the heating, keep the warmth in with a good draft excluder.
  • Unsubscribe from unwanted emails โ€“ It may not seem like a plastic swap, but fewer emails mean less digital waste and energy consumption.
  • Paper towels? No thanks! โ€“ Replace them with rags or reusable cleaning cloths.

Each of these swaps is simple, but together they add up to a big impact. Start with one or two and see how easy it is to embrace a low-waste lifestyle. Letโ€™s keep our beaches and the planet clean! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’™
