Here at Life’s a Beach we are always keen to support green initiatives, especially when they are local to us. So, when Churchdown Surgery reached out to let us know about their green week, we were more than happy to help!
Churchdown Surgery launched a “Good For You, Good For The Planet’ week where the surgery not only aimed to cut out the majority of their single-use plastic, but also to educate how everyone can work together for the good of the environment.
We donated just under a hundred of our reusable bottles so that every member of staff could stop using single-use bottles. If each person at the surgery used a single-use plastic bottle each working day, then that would’ve equated to 22,950 bottles a year! Now we can confidently say that Churchdown Surgery will be preventing over twenty thousand bottles going to landfill a year!
We also donated information posters and postcards about what we do as a charity and how people can cut down on their single-use plastic waste. These were displayed in the waiting room where hundreds of people saw them and could take the postcards home.
We were thrilled to support our local doctors on their eco mission and hope that there will be many more projects like this in the future.
