Seakeepers International Team Up

We teamed up with Seakeepers International and students from Falmouth and Exeter University to tackle litter on Gyllyngvase Beach.

14 amazing volunteers scoured the sands, rockpools, and hedges to collect up wayward litter that has ended up on the beach. Predominantly we found lots of food wrappers and pieces of abandoned fishing gear. However we also found some stranger items, such as:

  • A toy car
  • A bouy
  • 3 socks
  • Pieces of a camping chair

After two hours we had managed to fill eleven bags of litter. This weighed in at 19.82 kilos and brings our running total for 2025 to 71.66 kilos collected so far this year!

We had the best time meeting up with our new friends from Seakeepers and the amazing volunteers we see at our Cornwall cleans. If you would like to get involved, email hello@lifesabeach.org to find out more.
